Due to the inherent high risk that comes with working and/or lifting at height, equipment and machinery associated with these types of activities are strictly regulated.
Elevating Work Platforms (EWPs) are considered a high-risk plant item and are required by law to be plant design registered.
Mobile Crane and EWPs must undergo periodic inspections throughout their service life. They must also undergo major inspection/s after reaching the end of their design life (typically 5 or 10 years, depending on the age and history of the plant, but can be deferred if a life extension is deemed applicable).
Lifting equipment must be design verified and certified prior to commissioning.
